Rachel Galan graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University (SFASU) in 1995 with a degree in English and Anthropology; she went on to earn her Masters of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Galan began her career as the Assistant Director of the East Texas Research Center in SFASU’s Ralph W. Steen Library and has since served as Director of the Research Center, established the Library’s Digital Projects Department and now serves as the library’s Associate Director for Information Services. Ms. Galan has been managing the Library’s Texas Tides program since 2002 and is the Project Director for the Institute of Museum and Library Services Texas Tides grant project.
