Massimo Bergamasco teaches Mechanics of Robots at teh Faculty of Engineering of the University of Pisa and also Virtual Environments at the Faculty of Computer Science of the same University. He is the director of the PERCRO (Perceptual Robotics) Laboratory where research on Interaction with VE and Haptic Interfaces is carried out.

Recently his specific research interests moved towards the field of application of VE to cultural heritage and art.
