Fabio Gouveia is a Science Communicator and Technologist working at Museu da Vida (Museum of Life) ­ Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Oswaldo Cruz Foundation) since 1997. His areas of activities are Multimedia Development, Website Management and Website Development. Gouveia is a Biologist with Master Degree in Microbiology, and he is working in his PhD about an evaluation of the link network of websites from Brazilian science centres and museums. He is involved in the production of multimedia for the Museum of Life focusing themes of public health, sexually transmitted disease, AIDS, biosafety, and institutional information hypertexts.

Gouveia worked with the implementation of the Museum of Life websites using a Content Management System (CMS) and is responsible for the technical aspects and functionality of the websites hosted by the Museum of Life. He is also responsible for the Brazilian Virtual Library of Science Museums and Science Diffusion, a web-based directory with comments for the on-line science museums and science diffusion programs worldwide. Gouveia is at the moment participating in 5 projects with government support dedicated to the creation of multimedia products, board games, digital inclusion activities and evaluation systems for science museums. The Museum of Life goal is to educate and inform about science, health, and technology through enjoyable, creative activities such as permanent exhibits, multimedia and other interactive experiences, theater, videos, and laboratories. Bringing together science, culture, and society, it offers visitors an opportunity to improve their understanding of scientific processes and progress and how science impacts their daily lives.
