John Perkins operates Mus*Info, a consulting company serving museums, archives, libraries and other cultural organizations. Mus*Info does research, policy development, strategic planning, project management, teaching and institutional assessments. Current interests are in the area of digital information management and interchange, metadata harvesting, mobile computing, digital cultural heritage online, and content architectures for Semantic Web applications. John is the founding Executive Director of the CIMI Consortium, and co-founding collaborator of the international Digital Cultural Content Forum. Prior to CIMI, he was Director, of Client Operations for a museum software firm and prior to that directed the international, Conservation Information Network for the Getty Conservation Institute (GCI) in Los Angeles, California. John writes and teaches on museum information management and technology and serves on a number of advisory boards.
