Dick van Dijk is concept developer at Waag Society, with particular responsibilities for its Shared Narratives Program. Waag Society is an Amsterdam based knowledge institute investigating the interplay of culture and technology in relation to society, education, government and industry. With its knowledge Waag Society wishes to make a contribution to the design of the information society. In this it doesn't let itself be lead by technology but instead looks at the possibilities of people, their creativity and culture.

Among Dick’s projects are Monstermedia, an online learning environment for media education (http://www.waag.org/project/monstermedia) and Yesterday’s Register in which local stories of seniors are being collected in a storytelling Cabinet (http://www.waag.org/project/register) .

Previously Dick was strategy manager with TBWA/Interaction Company where he developed websites and campaigns for PlayStation, the Van Gogh Museum and Unicef.

He was New Media program coordinator with the Netherlands Design Institute where he co-organized the conference Doors of Perception 5: PLAY, on culture, education and new media.

From 1992 to 1996 Dick was a staff member with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, developing national technology and industrial policy.

Dick studied Business economics at Tilburg University and History of Art at Leiden University.
