Adrian Cunningham has worked with private records since the early 1980s, firstly at the Mitchell Library in the State Library of New South Wales and, from 1989 to 1995, in the Manuscript Section of the National Library of Australia. He currently works in the National Initiatives and Collaboration Branch of the National Library of Australia where his responsibilities include inter alia cross-sectoral collaboration on matters relating to access to and preservation of digital information. Since 1993 Adrian has pursued an interest in the question of the management of personal records in electronic form. As a result of this Adrian has written some articles and given talks on the topic at various forums. His primary concern in this area is to encourage personal records archivists to commence grappling with the issue of electronic records in so far as it impacts upon personal recordkeeping. His other major concern is to ensure that the personal records dimension is not overlooked in any consideration of broader electronic recordkeeping issues.
