Piers Cain is a specialist in records management and electronic records systems. He has worked in the archives and records field since the early 1980s. Piers has extensive operational experience in a wide range of organizations including business, international financial institutions, and local government. After completing a term of service at the International Monetary Fund in the United States as Chief, Archives and Electronic Records Unit, he assumed the position of Director of Research and Development at the International Records Management Trust. His recent research and publications include: Personnel Records: A Strategic Resource for Public Sector Management (with case studies from Uganda, Ghana, and Zimbabwe) -- a Research Report Submitted to ODA ESCOR, and "Data Warehouses as Producers of Archival Records," J. of the Society of Archivists 15 (Autumn 1995): 167-171.
