Session: Demo Session 2

The Benaki Museum, founded by Antonis Benakis in 1930, has recently been renovated and extended and reopened its doors to the public at the beginning of June 2000. Its new website, in both Greek and English, forms a detailed informative system that brings out the special nature of the Institution. The main units outline the identity of the Museum, the Collections, the Archives, the various activities (Exhibitions, Events, Publications, Educational Programmes), the departments and services (Library, Conservation Department, Documentation & Systems Department, the Shop) as well as news of the Institution. A virtual tour in a number of the main exhibition halls is available for website visitors, as well as a game that teaches and entertains the younger ones. The site describes all parts of this cultural institution as differentiated units that complement one another.
