Profiling Art and Programs for Museum Audiences Session: Demo Sessions 1 The primary function of The Art Institute of Chicago's Web site, created in 1996, is educational. In 2000, a significant effort was directed to helping visitors—general audiences as well as teachers, parents and caregivers, children, and scholars—locate and interpret objects in the permanent collection through varied means. Upcoming Web projects include the completion of additional sections of Art Access, and, within the next five years, the online transfer of additional digitized images of a significant portion of the museum collection. |
