AMICO: Using the Web to support collaboration, communication and workflow

Session: Demo Session 2

The Art Museum Image Consortium (AMICO) and its Members enable educational use of museum multimedia through the creation of The AMICO Library. Since the non-profit was formed in 1997, AMICO has relied on the Web to support communications among participants and to facilitate workflow in building The AMICO Library. This demonstration will provide an overview of the various components of AMICO's Web sites and highlight their importance to our organization. Communicating among many institutions with disparate constituents is an enormous challenge. Threaded conversations, on-line working spaces with shared documents, and archived files serve all parties involved by making the information readily available and location independent.
