Murder and Mayhem Session: Demo Session 2 MURDER AND MAYHEM, or a Full and Graphic account of the Collaboration between the Chicago Historical Society and Northwestern University to develop the Internet Exhibitions Wet with Blood: The Investigation of Mary Todd Lincoln's Cloak and The Dramas of Haymarket including items of Fact and Intrigue not to be found in Any Other Work of the Kind. The Chicago Historical Society and Northwestern University released two collaboratively developed web sites in the spring of 2000. Despite their common origin, the production process for these two sites was distinctly different. Wet with Blood was a low-budget student production designed for a general audience. The Dramas of Haymarket was a complex grant-funded, faculty-authored site intended for intended for a more focused audience of historians and students. What were the dynamics of partnership and production for these virtual multimedia exhibitions? |
