Leslie Latta-Guthrie has been working with the University of Alberta's Department of Museums and Collections Services since 1990. As Manager of the Collections Program, Leslie is accountable for planning, developing and implementing collections management, development, and access to information services. This includes overseeing digital content development associated with the University’s 35 collections within a Multi MIMSY 2000/Oracle database environment, as well as the development and success of the University of Alberta Virtual Museum initiative. Leslie has experience working with both the Alberta and Canadian museum communities. She has just completed a 5-year term with the Alberta Museums Association, most recently holding the position of Past-President. She is the University of Alberta’s liaison with national agencies such as the Canadian Heritage Information Network and the Canadian Cultural Property Export Review Board. And, she has previously presented at conferences and workshops of the Alberta Museums Association and the Museum Computer Network, as well as other similar organizations.
