Thomas A. Cofino is a Senior Manager, Research Staff Member, e-Business Applications and Technologies in the Applications and Solutions Technologies department, IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, Mr. Cofino is responsible for leading Research's work in technology and application development in several areas: e-commerce intelligence; human-centric web application design; and customer relationship management (CRM). In prior assignments, Mr. Cofino lead Research's work in automatic identification systems; he was a member of the team that developed the Guest Services System for the 1992 World Expo in Seville, Spain, which received world wide recognition as an outstanding technical achievement; he has also held several management and senior staff positions in various other IBM organizations. Mr. Cofino has been awarded 13 US patents, and was appointed a Research Division Master Inventor in 1999.

Thomas will present Less Clicking, More Watching: Results from the User-Centered Design of a Multi-Institutional Web Site for Art and Culture
