Ms. Marty Kreipe de Montano, a Prarie Band Potawatomi, is the manager of the Cultural Resources Centers of the National Museum of the American Indian. She planned the museum's Resource Center in New York City and guided its development into a user friendly high tech reference room that accomodates research interests of visitors and reaches a global audience via a dynamic Web site. She has also directed the design of the new Cultural Resources Center in Suitland, Maryland, and is working on the Resouce Center for the National Museum of the American Indian, currently under construction on the National Mall in Washington, DC. She has an M.A. in ethnohistory fo North American Indians from the University of Kansas. She co-authored (with Arlene Hirshfelder) an award winning reference book, The Native American Almanac, published by Macmillan. She wrote Coyote in Love with a Star, a children's picture book published by Abbeville Press and the National Museum of the American Indian, and Harvest Ceremony (with Jennifer Fell Hayes), a play produced by the NMAI. She has taught Native American History at New York Universtiy and has been a museum professional for over twenty years.
