Melissa oversees educational programs for adult, families, schools, seniors, and youth as well as the Library and the Independent Study Program. With her additional expertise in new media, she leads a distance learning effort to connect K-12 schools across the county to the Museum’s Permanent Collection and Education Department’s expertise. She has extensive experience in arts education, media production and educational design. She has advised educators across the country and in Europe on integrating new media and visual literacy into teaching and learning. Melissa received a B.F.A. in Film and an M.A. in Education from Ohio State University and a Ph.D., abd from New York University in Media, Culture and Education.
