Polina E. Ilieva is currently an Archival Specialist working on the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty Records at the Hoover Institution Archives. She is also in charge (principal designer and author) of the archival web projects, including Hoover Institution Library and Archives, Museum of Russian Culture collections at the Hoover Institution Archives (bilingual English/Russian), and RFE/RL records web sites. Her web design and production projects focus on the academic and educational environment and concentrate on bridging the areas of humanities and technology. These projects give Polina an opportunity to combine her background as an historian with the knowledge of web design and, in particular, the related fields of information design, interaction design, and instructional design. In January 2002 she graduated from the Multimedia Studies Program (Internet Design and Technology) at San Francisco State University College of Extended Learning. She holds an MA in International Relation and a Ph.D. in History (Philippine Studies) from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (Russia). Currently she is conducting research on the fate of Russian émigrés in China and the Philippines.
