James Devine is Head of Education and Digital Media Resources, Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery, University of Glasgow. In 1995, in association with colleagues from the Department of Computing Science, Jim Devine initiated a collaborative program between the Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery and the University's Department of Computing Science which has led to a wide variety of innovative multimedia projects focused around the Hunterian collections. This has included an award winning web site incorporating audio, video and QuickTime Virtual Reality. Jim has been involved in the supervision of several multimedia academic project teams with colleagues in the Computing Science Department as part of ongoing collaborative efforts in developing new applications for leading edge technologies. Jim has led field expeditions to Knossos in Crete to create QTVR tours of the Minoan palace complex on behalf of the Greek Ministry of Culture and the British School of Archaeology in Athens.

James will present SHADE Smithsonian-Hunterian Advanced Digital Experiments
