Dr Jane Hunter is a Distinguished Research Fellow at the Distributed Systems Technology Centre, at the University of Queensland. Her research interests are multimedia metadata modelling and interoperability between metadata standards across domains and media types. In 2002 she undertook a Queensland-Smithsonian fellowship at the National Museum of the American Indian CRC investigating the application of multimedia metadata and rights management standards to the development of online collections of indigenous resources. This work is continuing through a number of collaborative projects with indigenous communities in Australia and the US.
