MW2004 begins with pre-conference tours. Take this chance
to see behind-the scenes at Washington, DC area cultural institutions.
Pre-Conference Workshops take place on Wednesday. Full
and half day sessions offered by experts in the development, application
of museum computing and web technologies provide a chance to learn new
skills. Join your new MW2004 friends at the Welcome Reception on Wednesday
night.
MW2004 opens with a Plenary Session on Thursday. The
day continues with concurrent theme-based conference sessions. The day
closes with the Exhibitors' Reception.
The middle day of the MW2004 conference offers something
for everyone. The Exhibit Hall is open all day, offering a chance to
review technologies and services that will help you build your museum's
web presence. Mini-workshops, Professional Fora and Information Sessions
throughout the day address focussed topics. The Crit Room offers live
critique of museum web design, and the Usability Lab illustrates methods
of evaluating your web site from a user's perspective, quickly and efficiently.
Friday closes with the Conference Reception.
The final day of MW2004 begins with Demonstrations of
web sites by museum professionals. Two Demonstration sessions, one right
after the other, provide a great chance to see museum web sites up close,
and ask questions about their goals, objectives and methods. Concurrent
sessions on a theme follow, and MW2004 wraps with a Closing Plenary.
