Ontario Museum Association Web site redesignSarah Palmer, Ontario Museum Association, Canada Demonstration: Demonstrations - Session 1 The redesigned Ontario Museum Association (OMA) Web site launched on Heritage Day (February 21, 2005). The goal of the site is to act both as a central site for heritage-related resources for OMA members and as a vehicle to promote Ontario's museums to the public. The redesign has added several new features including an expanded resource area with materials to help museums meet the new Ontario Ministry of Culture standards and an all-year museum event database linked to our online Guide to Ontario Museums. The new look and navigation have made the website easier to explore and locate information. Two of the OMA's Certificate in Museum Studies courses are available online through the website. Museums in Context introduces participants to the social history and development of museums while Organization & Management of Museums examines topics ranging from policy and governance through to human resources and financial management. Online bulletin boards and chats allow participants to interact and share information. |
