Marcus Weisen worked as Arts Officer and Head of Lesiure Policy for the Royal National Institute for the Blind (UK) for 14 years. He was involved in a number of strategic cultural access projects and policy initiatives for visually impaired people, e.g. audio description in museums, theatres and on TV. He initiated a range of national and international access initiatives, including the cultural tourism project "European Cities within Reach" and "Tactimages" (training programme for the design of tactile images with a cultural purpose). He was a founder member of the European Committe for Creativity with and by Disabled Persons and initiated the "Barrier-free" magazine of MAGDA, the Museums and Galleries Disability Association (UK). In February 2002, he became the first Disability Development Officer for Resource, the Council for Museums, Archives and Libraries (England).
