Suzanne Bertrand-Gastaldy is a professor at the École de bibliothéconomie et des sciences de l'information, Université de Montréal. Her research interests are centred on computer-assisted analysis of information (indexing, classification, knowledge extraction), on relationships between semiotics and the information sciences, and on the cognitive processes of searching, analysing, and reading digital information. She has undertaken work on the information needs and habits of users of Canadian cultural sites, especially in the area of contemporary art, and is presently studying the information behaviours of middle management in municipal settings, as well as information architectures useful in facilitating reading and the re-use of various types of digital documents in organisations.
