Jamie PurvesCommunity Facilities Coordinator Jamie Purves has been involved with museum-based education for the past six years. He is passionate about making museums more relevant and meaningful. Jamie currently holds the position of Facility Coordinator at Britannia Shipyard National Historic Site and Programs Assistant at the Vancouver Maritime Museum. He is the inspiration behind www.bcfieldtrips.ca, a resource to help teachers discover the variety of field trip opportunities in their community. He actively volunteers for Interpretation Canada, an organization which promotes excellence in interpretation, and for the Lower Mainland Museum Educators Group. In his spare time, Jamie enjoys various outdoor pursuits that take him to remote places. Jamie will demonstrate www.bcfieldtrips.ca - An On-line Database of Fieldtrip Opportunities. |
