Collene ArmstrongPrincipal The principal member of Points North, Collene Armstrong, is an artist, educator and multimedia developer. She has forged strong relationships with a number of Aboriginal communities, including teaching in Iqaluit, Prince Rupert and Qualicum, and developing language and cultural projects for the Coast Salish, Tsimshian, Secwepemec and Inuit. As a curriculum and resource developer, Collene has found success in combining her artistic and educational training with technological skills to develop curriculum materials that are relevant, formative and engaging. As project manager for several interactive web/CD-rom based projects (including Archives in the Classroom: Letters from the Trunk) she has learned to integrate instructional and graphic design skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of team to create materials that reflect both educational and traditional goals.
Collene will demonstrate Arctic Peoples and Archaeology CD-ROM. |
