Sebastian Chan manages the web development team at the Powerhouse Museum. Over the last 5 years he has been responsible for developing a number of award winning web projects for the Museum including an interactive portal for online music education, Soundbyte; as well as interactive sites covering topics such as gambling, ecology and design. He has also contributed significantly to the development of the Museum's media-teaching labs - the SoundHouse and the Vector Lab. Coming from a diverse background in systems administration and IT, he holds a degree in social policy and was, for a time, writing a PhD thesis on electronic music in Australia. Outside the Museum he publishes a national quarterly magazine on independent music and electronic art, has toured internationally as a club DJ, organises youth arts festivals and music events, and regularly consults on web development and new media for the music, film and entertainment industry. His drink of choice is umeshu.

Sebastian will demonstrate Gambling: Calculating The Risk - developing a controversial educational web interactive.
