Leif Isaksen is the programmer for the Virtual Lightbox for Museums and Archives project at the Ure Museum, University of Reading. He was educated at King's College, Cambridge, where he studied philosophy (MA 1997), and the University of Southampton, where he is pursuing an MSc in Archaeological Computing (Spatial Technologies) and will shortly commence a PhD on the application of Geographical Information Systems in Andalucia, Spain. The groundwork for this study is being presented and published at the Computer Applications and quantitative methods in Archaeology conference 2005: The world is in your eyes (in Tomar, Portugal) and published in the Urban Connectivity in Iron-Age and Roman Southern Spain Project Report (forthcoming). Between 2000 and 2003 Leif worked as a Java software developer for a multinational, Fresenius AG, in Berlin, Germany. He also has extensive teaching experience in Spain, Germany, and the UK.

Leif will demonstrate The Virtual Lightbox for Museums and Archives: A Portlet Solution for Structured Data Reuse Across Distributed Visual Resources.
