As a special projects manager with the New Brunswick Museum, Saint John, NB, Bruce Thomson is responsible for the day to day management of the museum’s bilingual web site (www.nbm-mnb.ca) , providing updates as required, evaluating and monitoring usage and content, developing and producing new content, researching funding opportunities, and preparing funding proposals. He manages special partnerships and projects that present museum collections in educational digital formats, and is also in charge of managing the media/digital image component of the NBM’s collections database system, The Museum System (TMS). In addition to the above tasks, Bruce is keen to assist and partner with small community museums in New Brunswick for the development of digital and web projects as part of the NBM outreach program. Project highlights from the recent past have been the production of several bilingual virtual exhibitions including The Death of General Wolfe and Traditional Pottery of the Wolastoqiyik and Mi’kmaq People. Currently in production is a Virtual Museum of Canada project, Koluskap: Stories from Wolastoqiyik. Also of special note is the project management of the NBM's role in the Award Winning Clio Clic and Keys to History project, spearheaded by the McCord Museum of Canadian History, Montreal. Bruce is a recipient of a Canadian Professional Scholarship to MW2005.
