Wera Grahn has been a PhD student since 1999 at the Department of Gender Studies, University of Linköping, Sweden, where she is writing her dissertation on the privileged meaning of gender in the official narratives of some Swedish museums of cultural history. Previously she worked for several years at the Nordiska museet, the leading museum of cultural history in Sweden. She has also been employed at the Swedish National Maritime Museum and the Swedish National Museum of Science and Technology. In 1999 she evaluated and analyzed the last mentioned museum's collections, exhibitions and pedagogy from a gender perspective as a part of an assignment from the Swedish Government. Her former academic background is in ethnology, history of ideas and theory of science.
