Dr. Donald Carr is a full time professor at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico where he has worked since 2002. Before that he was a consultant in the United States, doing consulting in the area of control systems. He does research on control systems and open source software, and is currently working on 5 research projects for the subway system in Guadalajara. He is helping other researchers in the agricultural school by automating an instrument for analyzing the fluids from the stomachs of rats. He also has worked with Dr. Ana Carr and others in the department of environmental sciences at the agricultural campus to help with web based projects and other computer related projects, as well as translations to and from English. He has taught classes in open source software, advanced programming, and control. He has a PhD (1998), MS (1990), and BS (1988) in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa.
