Alan BrooksHead, North American Operations Alan Brooks trained in Plant Biology and Computing Science. He spent 10 years as a Systems Analyst for the Herbarium at the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney. During this time, Alan was the key developer of PlantNET, an online plant information resource. Alan chaired HISCOM, the group that developed the Australian Virtual Herbarium (AVH), for the first two years. He was a significant player in the development of the Online Zoological Collections of Australian Museums (OZCAM). Alan, currently the Head of North American Operations for KE Software, is based in Vancouver and maintains a passion for bioinformatics and museum systems. Alan will present Deriving Meaning From Specimens: Making Zoological Data Available On The Web. |
