Phyllis Hecht is Web site manager at the National Gallery of Art, Washington (http://www.nga.gov) . She was involved in the project from its inception, collaborating in the design and development of the original Web site plan, determining the underlying architecture and navigation, developing design principles, and evaluating and revising the site for its launch in 1997. As manager, she sets and implements strategic direction, policies, and priorities for the site. She is currently on the board of the Media and Technology Committee of the American Association of Museums and teaches at Johns Hopkins University's DC campus.
