Marthe studied art history at Leiden University and holds an MA in 16th- and 17th century, Dutch and Flemish painting. She graduated in 1999 with an award winning thesis. Later she got post doc certificats in pr and communications (NIMA) and digitisation (Glasgow University HATII).

Marthe de Vet has been working for the Royal Picture Gallery Mauritshuis since 1999. She is responsible for the museum's education to all visitors over 18 years and multimedia. She chairs the internet team, which launched the new museum website in November 2005. Marthe will present Buzz and Viral Marketing as a PR Tool for Museums: A Dutch case study.
