Vivian Ducat is the Executive Editor and Senior Director of Columbia University Digital Knowledge Ventures, a unit of the Columbia University Libraries and Information Services that creates multimedia web sites, kiosks and other digital products for organizations outside Columbia as well as for university itself. Ducat recently served as the lead creative force in the creation of multimedia touchscreen kiosks for the Malcolm X and Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial Center at the Audubon Ballroom in New York City. Her five-year tenure in digital media follows a 20-year career as an award-winning documentary filmmaker. Ducat wrote, produced and directed films a wide range of subjects, many of them reliant on archival sources, for PBS, the BBC, ABC NEWS, and COURT TV. Vivian Ducat holds a bachelor's degree magna cum laude from Harvard College, and completed the Film Director's Training Course at the BBC in London.
