Kate Haley Goldman is a Senior Research Associate at the Institute for Learning Innovation. Her work concentrates on furthering theory and practice of the use of technology for personal learning. Kate’s research reflects the Institute’s focus changing the world of education by understanding, facilitating, advocating and communicating about free-choice learning across the life span, working with a variety of free-choice learning institutions such as museums, other cultural institutions, public television stations, libraries, scientific societies and humanities councils, as well as schools and universities. During her time at ILI, that has included projects in the US and abroad involving mobile phones, web sites and web 2.0, exhibit kiosks, augmented and mixed reality, novel data visualization systems, and online learning. She is particularly interested in developing reliable and valid evaluation methodologies for online environments and deepening the theoretical knowledge base as it applies to technology and these environments.
