Marthe de Vet is Head of Education & Public Services of the Van Gogh Museum. Her department ‘translates’ the content of permanent collections, research and exhibition to a range of audiences. Marthe is responsable for education in the broadest sense, from a.o. wall texts, audiotours, multimediatours and films to interpretation, life long learning, public programming, outreach, school programs and educational collaborations. As Head of Education Marthe supervises the education and public services in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and the Mesdag Museum at The Hague.

Marthe de Vet has a degree in Art History from Leiden University. From 1999 to 2006 she worked at the Royal Cabinet of Paintings Mauritshuis at The Hague, where she was in charge of education and internet. As project leader of the new website (launched 2006) she developed her affinity for new media as a medium for innovative education.

Marthe will present Van Gogh's Letters. Or how to make the results of 15 years of research widely accessible for various audiences and how to involve them?. [Paper]
