Elena leads the Information department at the National Gallery and the Audio Guides’ service, development and strategy. She has worked for some big and small institutions in London, Greece, Spain and the USA (TATE, Institute of Contemporary Art, Royal Opera House, Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art) and her background is in museology, archaeology and communications. Her focus is mainly audio interpretation: audio guides, podcasts and apps, but she has a keen interest in holistic digital strategies, flexible business models and management and innovation through research and creative collaborations. One of her favorite areas of work is linguistics and foreign audiences: an innovative collaboration program with the University of Westminster on international interpretation, linguistics & intellectual/ interpretative repatriation of a national collection which is European in its origins (“Lost In Translation”). She is fluent in 5 languages and Playstation 3.
