Dr. Steven Zucker is Dean of the School of Graduate Studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology, State University of New York. He is a specialist in 19th and 20th-century art and former chair of the Department of the History of Art at FIT. With Beth Harris, he created Smarthistory.org, winner of the 2009 Webby Award for Education and the 2008 AVICOM gold award from the International Council of Museums. Dr. Zucker is a recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and he has also taught at The School of Visual Arts, Hunter College, and at The Museum of Modern Art. He has presented at numerous conferences on new technologies for image-based teaching. With Dr. Harris, he wrote "The Slide Library: A Posthumous Assessment in the Service of Our Digital Future," Teaching Art History with Technology: Case Studies (2008). Their work has been cited twice in EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative/New Media Consortium's Horizon Report. He earned his Doctorate in Art History from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.
