The Hampshire County Council Museums Service web catalogue, 80314 object pages plus supporting access pages and a search engine, was born out of opportunism. The service's object documentation uses software, data structure, and terminology control that foster Object Records which are accessible and readable by curators and the public. In Summer 1997 there were 82000 records available. Transfer to the new web site being set up by Hampshire County Council IT department was possible, so I did it; 3 days to write and test display specifications, and a fortnight later 80000 pages on the web. The project was done single handed at a week's notice, with no extra budget provision.
