James E. Berry

Operations Supervisor, Historic Crossroads Village, Flint, Michigan

James E. Berry is the Operations Supervisor for Historic Crossroads Village, an open air museum recreating an 1870's Michigan railroad town. He has experimented with web page technology as a means of reconfiguring the interpretive programming of a living history village and as a tool for staff development. He is a consultant to the Genesee Intermediate School District on collaborative partnerships between cultural organizations and schools, as well as, a trainer for Project Get It, instructing teachers in using the web. James holds degrees in history and teaching from the University of Michigan and has studied in the photography department of the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit. He has been an artist and historical craftsman in wood for 17 years and an instructor in wood sculpture at the museum school of the Flint Institute of Arts.

James will present The Virtual Docent.
