Barbara Rogers Bridges

ArtsNet Minnesota Coordinator, Walker Art Center

Dr. Barbara Rogers Bridges is the ArtsNet Minnesota Coordinator. Barbara directed the curriculum content development of this website as the staff at the Walker Art Center, The Minneapolis Institute of Arts, The Frederick R. Weisman Museum, community members, arts organizations and art teachers from around the state contributed their knowledge and expertise. Barbara also wrote the copy for the selected Walker artworks. She has been studying and creating online curriculum since 1994. Barbara's commitment to web technology focuses on the belief that sites like ArtsNet Minnesota help make art accessible to all peoples.

Barbara's journey to ArtsNet Minnesota began in Maine where she started teaching art in 1976. She has worked with children and adults since that time in Maine, Mexico, the Caribbean, and in Minnesota. She holds a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Minnesota, speaks and publishes nationally for events as diverse as the National Art Educators Association's national convention and the Minnesota Science Museum , is rostered as an art historian and maskmaker for the Minnesota Arts Board and is Assistant Professor at Bemidji State University, Minnesota, U.S.A.
