Robin Dowden
Robin Dowden was recently hired by the Walker Art Center as Integrated
Information Resources/Web Site Manager, to manage the Walker's web site
and implement a major new initiative, Integrated Arts Information Access
(IAIA). Prior to this, Dowden was the Collections Systems and Web Site
Manager at the National Gallery of Art (NGA), where she designed and
implemented one of the most comprehensive collection management systems
in the museum world. In the past year, she led the effort to transition
this internal management system to be the backbone for one of the most
successful museum Web sites on the Internet today with over 90,000 collection
records and associated information, including more than 9,500 digitized
images. Dowden was also NGA's representative for its involvement in
both the Consortium for the Computer Interchange of Museum Information
(CIMI) and Museum Educational Site Licensing (MESL) projects. She is
currently on the Board and the Treasurer of the Museum Computer Network
and serves as the Walker's representative to the Art Museum Image Consortium
(AMICO).
Robin will co-present Linking
