Lorilee C. Huffman
Curator of Collections/Development Officer, University
Museum
Lorilee C. Huffman, Curator of Collections/Development Officer, has
been an active member of the museum community for over 22 years. She
is currently employed by the Southern Illinois University Museum at
Carbondale (SIUC), where she is involved in many facets of the Museum's
operations from supervision of collection management to development
including the securing of public and private support for all aspects
of the Museum. Ms. Huffman received her MPA degree in Museum Administration
with a minor in Anthropology from SIUC in 1985, and her BA in Social-cultural
anthropology from University of Illinois at Springfield in 1977. She
is an adjunct assistant professor in SIUC's School of Art and Design,
where she teaches Museum Studies. She has been project director of the
"Museum in the Classroom" project since it began in 1995, and continues
to seek different avenues to bring recognition to this unique project
funded by the Illinois State Board of Education. Recently, she gave
a project presentation at the Illinois Council for the Social Studies'
Annual Convention in Glenview, Illinois, October 1997.
Lorilee will co-present Integrating
Museum Artifacts and Technology.
