José M. Martínez

E.T.S. Ing. Telecomunicación, Spain

José María Martínez was born in Madrid (Spain) in 1967. He received the Ingeniero de Telecomunicación degree (six years engineering program) with honors in 1991 from the E.T.S. Ingenieros de Telecomunicación of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

Since 1991 he has been a member of the Grupo de Tratamiento de Imágenes of the E.T.S. Ingenieros de Telecomunicación. He was a PhD scholar of the IT&T Program of the Spanish National Research Plan from 1992 till 1995. Besides working as Research Assistant at the Grupo de Tratamiento de Imágenes, since 1995 he has been Assistant Lecturer at the Escuela Superior de Ingeniería Informática of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Currently, he is working towards his PhD.

His professional interests cover the different aspects of hypermedia information systems. He has been actively involved in European projects (Race, Acts, Telematics).

He received in 1994 and 1997 the Award of the best paper of the Cuartas Jornadas Telecom I+D.

José will co-present The BABEL Project: A Museums and Libraries Network.
