Karen Neimanis
Karen Neimanis is the Manager of Development in the Systems and Access
Directorate of CHIN. CHIN provides information services via the Internet
to museums across Canada and to cultural and heritage institutions around
the world. Karen manages staff responsible for specialized application
development, such as searching, retrieval and presentation of information
resources on the WWW. Karen has been involved in several international
projects, including the Conservation Information Network (CIN), CIMI,
and the CIDOC Data Modelling Working Group, along with collaborative
initiatives with the Getty Information Institute.
Karen has 13 years experience with CHIN, in the areas of database
administration, client application development and support, operations
and systems support and database management software support to both
staff and clients. Karen has a Bachelor of Arts degree and holds a
Certificate of Data Processing.
Karen will co-present From
"Come and Get It" to "Seek and You Shall Find": Transition from a
Central Resource to an Information Meta-Centre.
