Michael Shapiro

Art Museum Image Consortium, USA

Michael S. Shapiro is an historian, attorney and former museum director. The former General Counsel of the National Endowment for the Humanities, Shapiro currently serves as General Counsel to the Art Museum Image Consortium (AMICO) and as consultant to the Center for Arts and Culture in Washington, D.C.  He holds the Ph.D. in American Civilzation from Brown University (1980) and the JD from the George Washington University (1986). The author of numerous articles in law and the humanities, Shapiro is the editor of THE MUSEUM: A REFERENCE GUIDE (1990).

Michael will present The Metes and Bounds of Culture: Transnational Licensing Issues in Cyberspace.
