Alan Smith

Manager, Public Information Project, The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa

Alan Smith is Manager of the Public Information Project at The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. Te Papa will open its new $NZ300 million facility on the waterfront of Wellington, New Zealand's capital city, on February 14 1998. Alan's professional background is in librarianship, and he was Deputy National Librarian at the National Library of New Zealand when its first on-line network was opened. He has a Master of Public Policy degree from Victoria University of Wellington and is a member of The Internet Society of New Zealand.

Alan will present The Museum as a Forum for the Nation.
