Benjamin Lorch Mr. Lorch joined the CUIP team in February of 2000 to coordinate the many efforts of CUIP including the Chicago WebDocent program. Ben handles the day-to-day operations of CUIP and manages the work of five full-time technology resource advisors that work in 26 partner schools. Ben also works directly with all 26 CUIP principals and Chicago Public Schools officials. Management of the CUIP budget and fundraising are also part of Ben's job. Before joining CUIP, Ben was the webmaster for a Chicago-based software company which produced software for social service agencies. He also worked for several years at the Smithsonian Institution, cataloging recent developments in the uses of information technology. The focus of Ben's recent work has been on community informatics and the role large institutions in community outreach and redevelopment efforts.
