Martin Warnke, born in 1955, studied in Berlin and Hamburg, and acquired his PhD in Theoretical Physics at University of Hamburg in 1984. Since 1984 he has taught Computer Science at the Leuphana University Lüneburg. Since 1997/98, he has been the head of the Computing and Media Center of the Universit of Lüneburg and the project team of "HyperImage -- image centered eScience networks". He has been a regular speaker at the special interest group "Computers and Society" of the German "Gesellschaft für Informatik" (Society for Computer Science), sharing his research interests in documentation of fine arts with digital media.
