Julie Zilber is Co-Director of 7th Floor Media at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. Established as ExCITE (the Exemplary Centre for Interactive Technologies in Education) in 1987, 7th Floor Media specializes in new media for education and culture. Julie is a member of the Board of Directors of the Virtual School Society of B.C., and a Research Leader for the Mobile MUSE Research Network. She is Vice-Chair of Lions Gate Learning Alliance, Inc., a consortium of companies and academic institutions focused on technology-enhanced education for social benefit. Julie is also Founding Director of LinguaComm Enterprises, Inc., which develops engaging and intuitive voice-driven learning applications for cellular telephones.
