Sarah Charlie works as the First Nations Heritage Officer within the Cultural Services Branch of the Yukon Department of Tourism and Culture. Sarah holds a diploma in First Nation Community Studies through Camosun College in Victoria, British Columbia. Sarah provides support and technical assistance to First Nations governments, First Nation organizations and Cultural Heritage Centers with funding applications, workshops, training programs and supervising First Nation interns. She has also worked with the Cultural Human Resources Council and other Cultural Managers to develop a General Competency List for Cultural Managers. Sarah has served as a General Council member of the Teslin Tlingit First Nation government for the past 5 years and has worked as the Economic Development Manger for Tle’ Nax T’awei (Teslin Tlingit Council’s Business Arm) and currently sits as a Trustee for Tle’ Nax T’awei Limited Partnership Business Trust. Sarah is also a Peacemaker for Teslin and has been taking Mediation and Negotiation training courses through the BC Justice Institute.
